Dhaka, July 26 -- A Delta Air Lines pilot was arrested in Sweden after failing a random pre-flight alcohol test, leading to the cancellation of Flight 205 from Stockholm Arlanda to New York JFK.

The American woman, scheduled to operate the 8-hour, 45-minute transatlantic flight, was tested onboard around 9:15 a.m., according to Swedish newspaper. Police detained her immediately.

Although the crew had arrived on time and no technical issues were reported with the aircraft, the flight was canceled following her arrest.

This is not the first such incident for Delta. In 2023, a 63-year-old Delta pilot was jailed in Scotland for 10 months after being caught with alcohol in his bag and failing a breathalyzer test at Edinburgh Airport.
