Dhaka, Dec. 21 -- Taiwan-based China Airlines has confirmed an order for five additional Airbus A350-1000s as part of a multi-billion-dollar long-haul fleet expansion strategy.

The new aircraft will join ten previously ordered A350-1000s, complementing 15 A350-900s already in service.

The airline said the jets will modernise its fleet, replace older aircraft, and support planned network growth. China Airlines is also acquiring 24 Boeing 787s and eight Airbus A321neos, with total jet acquisitions expected to exceed $2 billion.

Deliveries of the first 787 are scheduled for 2026, with initial passenger flights to Bangkok and Tokyo.
