Dhaka, Dec. 21 -- Sri Lanka's tourism sector continues to show steady growth, with total tourist arrivals reaching 2.21 million so far this year, underscoring the island's ongoing recovery and strong appeal as a travel destination.

Data from Bandaranaike International Airport (BIA) indicate sustained activity during the first half of December 2025.

Between December 1 and 16, the airport handled 1,402 arrival flights and 1,408 departure flights, reflecting robust operational levels. During the same period, 108,055 tourists arrived in the country through BIA.
