New Delhi, June 3- India's first ever Polar Research Vessel will come equipped with the latest scientific equipment to enable researchers to explore oceans' depths, study marine ecosystems and unlock new insights into Earth's past, present, and future, the government said today.

Ports, Shipping & Waterways Minister Sarbananda Sonowal was present at the MoU-signing ceremony between Kolkata-based Garden Reach Shipbuilders and Engineers Limited (GRSE) and Norway's Kongsberg, thereby paving the way for India to build it "first ever" PRV indigenously.
