Jammu, April 8 -- Jammu and Kashmir Assembly proceedings were disrupted for the second day on Tuesday amid a heated row over the Waqf Amendment Act. The opposition parties, led by the PDP and the Awami Ittehad Party, clashed with the ruling lawmakers after their adjournment motion on the issue was rejected by the Speaker.
Tensions escalated as members of the National Conference (NC) and the People's Democratic Party (PDP) exchanged sharp words over the Act, passed in Parliament last week. Amid slogan-shouting and chaos, the Speaker adjourned the session till 1 pm.
