India, Dec. 1 -- Protesting Punjab Roadways and Punbus employees called off their agitation after consensus was reached during a meeting with the Transport Minister at Patti, Tarn Taran.

After the meeting, Transport Minister Laljit Singh Bhullar said that the suspended employees would be reinstated and the remaining legitimate demands of the employees would also be met soon.

The Minister further said that the employees' unions have agreed that they would not interfere in purchasing of new fleet of buses. He added that the if employees found involved in any illegal activity at the depot level then unions would not interfere without any valid reason.
