Former Chief Minister of Gujarat Vijay Rupani, who was onboard Boeing 787-8 Air India aircraft which on Thursday crashed in Ahemdabad's Meghaninagar, died, his office said in a statement.
The Boeing 787-8 aircraft which carried around 169 Indian nationals, 53 British nationals, 1 Canadian national, and seven Portuguese nationals, crashed on BJ Medical College's hostel mess during lunch hours. Over 50 intern doctors are fear dead in the incident.
The plane was bound to London's Gatwick from Ahmedabad Airport.
According to an official statement, around 133 passengers have been declared dead in the incident.
