In a move aimed at easing traffic congestion in South Delhi, the Delhi government is set to revive the long-pending widening and upgradation project of Mandi Road. Public Works Department (PWD) Minister Parvesh Verma announced that the 8.8-kilometre stretch will be handed over to the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) for expansion and management.
"To decongest Mandi Road, we plan to transfer it to NHAI. They are better equipped to handle land acquisition, which is crucial for this project," Verma said.
