New Delhi, April 9 -- Telecommunications company Swoop Holdings Limited has partnered with optical solutions provider Sterlite Technologies (STL) to enhance fibre connectivity for around 1,000 homes in Western Australia. The upgrade will take place in Seacrest Estate near Geraldton, where Swoop recently acquired conduit and fibre assets.
Under the agreement, STL will supply optical networking and connectivity products to Swoop Infrastructure, aiming to improve broadband access in the area. The initiative is part of Swoop's broader fibre broadband strategy, which includes expanding both retail and wholesale services. The project is being led by Anthony Camilleri, Head of Infrastructure at Swoop.
STL will provide a range of optical solutions suited to brownfield environments, including micro cables and optical termination equipment. The technology is manufactured at STL's certified "Zero Waste to Landfill" facilities, with a focus on durability and environmental standards.
Camilleri said the collaboration would support the company's ambition to become a preferred provider for developers by delivering reliable and high-speed internet to homes. He noted that STL's optical solutions would help establish a future-ready network for residents in the region.
Rahul Puri, CEO of STL's Optical Networking Business, said that the partnership would allow Swoop to deliver faster internet speeds and better service quality to local communities.
Earlier this month, STL completed the demerger of its Global Services Business, which will now operate as a separate entity named STL Networks Limited under the brand "Invenia". The announcement was made earlier this month, marking a significant restructuring move by the company.
The decision has resulted in the formation of two distinct companies, each with a focused operational strategy. STL will continue to concentrate on its core area of optical networking, supported by more than ten manufacturing facilities across the globe and a customer base in over 100 countries. Meanwhile, STL Networks will provide digital infrastructure and services, targeting sectors such as enterprise, telecommunications, cloud, and government.
