New Delhi, July 30 -- Sri Lankan financial institution Hatton National Bank PLC (HNB) has adopted FinnAxia, a transaction banking platform developed by Nucleus Software, to enhance its digital banking services for corporate and SME clients both locally and globally.

With the new system in place, HNB aims to deliver a more seamless and efficient banking experience by integrating a robust and scalable platform. The bank expects the transition to support its cash management operations, improve client onboarding, strengthen relationships, and open new revenue streams.

According to Damith Pallewatte, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of HNB, the adoption of FinnAxia is a step towards rethinking the bank's transaction banking approach. He noted that the goal is not only to maintain leadership in payments and cash management but also to significantly grow its presence among corporate and SME customers. The platform, he said, allows clients to manage global payments, receivables, liquidity, supply chain finance, and trade services through a single digital interface.

Since going live, HNB has reported a tenfold increase in customer onboarding and a sixfold rise in transaction volumes. Clients now have access to real-time dashboards, automated reconciliation, and greater visibility into cash positions across international operations, helping them make more informed decisions.
