Databricks appoints new India country manager
U.S.-based enterprise software firm Databricks on Monday announced the appointment of Kamalkanth Tummala as its new Country Manager for India. With over two decades of experience in enterprise technology and leadership, Tummala will be tasked with scaling Databricks' operations across India. Tummala, an MBA graduate from the Indian Institute of Science (IISc), Bengaluru, joins from Salesforce, where he served as Vice President and led go-to-market initiatives across diverse sectors, building frameworks and scaling teams. Before that, he spent nearly a decade at Mindtree, where he played a pivotal role in expanding strategic accounts as Regional Director. His appointment comes on the heels of Databricks' Rs.2,000 crore ($250 million) investment in the country to bolster training and enablement, research and development (R&D), and go-to-market capabilities. Renault Group India has appointed Vikraman V as Chief of Renault Engineering at Renault Nissan Technology & Business Centre India, located in Chennai. He will lead engineering excellence and innovation, supporting Renault Group's global transformation and India's growing role in advanced R&D. Vikraman joins from Mahindra & Mahindra, where he led the Vehicle Mechanical Division and held senior roles for nearly two decades. He brings expertise across EV and ICE platforms and holds a master's and a PhD in automotive engineering from IIT Madras.
