New Delhi, July 30 -- New Relic has appointed Rob Newell as Senior Vice President and Managing Director for Asia-Pacific and Japan. He will lead the company's operations and sales strategy across the region, bringing over 20 years of experience in technical software sales and leadership.
Newell has been with New Relic in a senior capacity, most recently serving as Group Vice President of Solutions Consulting and Technical Sales for Asia-Pacific and Japan. Before joining the company, he held the position of Vice President of Solutions Engineering and Cloud Sales for ASEAN at Salesforce. His earlier roles include senior leadership positions at IntraLinks and ConnXion Limited, giving him a strong background in the software and cloud services sectors across Asia-Pacific.
Lauren Nemeth, Chief Revenue Officer at New Relic, said the appointment underlines the importance of the Asia-Pacific region to the company's future plans. She expressed confidence in Newell's ability to lead the regional team, citing his expertise and familiarity with customers in the market.
Newell's appointment follows a series of leadership changes in the region, including the addition of Denis Maguire as Senior Director of Enterprise Sales for Australia and New Zealand, and Manivannan Govindan as Senior Director of Enterprise Sales for Asia.
Speaking on his new role, Newell said he is honoured to lead New Relic's Asia-Pacific and Japan operations. He noted the region's strong adoption of artificial intelligence and the growing demand for observability tools to support innovation and drive measurable outcomes.
Newell holds a Master of Business Administration from the Australian Institute of Business and a degree in Computer Science and Informatics from the University of Wollongong, with a focus on software development and distributed systems.
The company's observability platform aims to help businesses maintain digital performance and recently introduced updates to its partner programme, along with more than 20 AI-powered features designed to enhance service uptime.
