New Delhi, July 24 -- Indian law firm Cyril Amarchand Mangaldas (CAM) has chosen advanced Generative Artificial Intelligence (GenAI) platform Legora as its partner for implementing GenAI across its operations. The decision follows a thorough testing phase involving 380 lawyers across CAM's offices, where three AI platforms were evaluated for their usability, efficiency, and ability to handle real-world legal tasks.

The firm announced its intention to embrace AI earlier this year, focusing on improving the quality and speed of its services while ensuring data security and client confidentiality. Cyril Shroff, the firm's managing partner, described the partnership with Legora as a move towards building the future of legal services through collaboration and innovation. He emphasised that adopting AI is about equipping lawyers with tools to work more effectively.

"At CAM, we believe GenAI is a foundational shift for the legal profession. Our aim to becoming an AI-first organisation is about empowering our lawyers with intelligent tools that enhance quality, speed, and client value, while maintaining data security and client confidentiality," said Cyril Shroff, Managing Partner. "The decision to partner with Legora is not just about selecting a product - it is about building the future of legal services through deep collaboration, co-creation, and responsible innovation."

Max Junestrand, CEO of Legora, said that the partnership marks an important expansion for Legora into the Indian market. He mentioned ongoing work with CAM to develop new AI-driven tools designed to tackle complex legal tasks, with both sides committed to creating solutions that deliver real value to clients.

In January, the firm said that it is piloting the legal AI platforms Harvey and using Lucio to enhance its lawyers' capabilities, along with Copilot and ChatGPT Plus to optimise business operations.

The spokesperson had then said that the initial use cases will include due diligence, fact verification, litigation support, draft preparation, and legal research, while the Business Services team will leverage these tools for knowledge management, business development, HR deployment, and financial analysis.
