Union Budget 2026: Enterprise tech measures explained
The Union Budget 2026-27 outlined several policy steps aimed at the technology and enterprise sectors. It proposed a tax holiday until 2047 for foreign cloud providers hosting services in India with export revenue conditions, and introduced a 15 % safe-harbour margin for related-party cost arrangements to reduce tax disputes. The budget also launched India Semiconductor Mission 2.0 with an initial Rs.1,000 crore allocation to build local semiconductor capacity, strengthen supply chains and support IP design. Incentives for electronics manufacturing were extended to include equipment and full-stack IP, and export-promotion and transfer-pricing norms were eased for IT and data centre ecosystems. Additionally, the budget included plans for creator labs in schools to support digital skills development in animation, visual effects, gaming and related sectors.
HCLTech signs aviation maintenance deal, expands telecom partnership
HCLTech will implement its iMRO/4 maintenance execution platform integrated with SAP S/4HANA at Hong Kong Aero Engine Services Limited's (HAESL) engine service facility. The platform is intended to unify maintenance, repair and overhaul data with enterprise resource planning for real-time visibility, workflow coordination and compliance tracking. It covers parts tracking, cost monitoring and documentation to support end-to-end maintenance execution processes. The company also partnered with Circles, a telecom software company, to advance its AI-led connectivity platforms for telecom operators and digital brands. The collaboration will focus on Circles' Aspire SaaS platform for MVNO and MVNE use cases, with HCLTech responsible for product engineering, platform integration and AI-driven automation.
AXISCADES secures Rs.13.5 cr Make-in-India orders from US clients
AXISCADES Technologies Ltd's subsidiary Mistral Solutions has won new contracts worth approximately Rs.13.5 crore from two US customers. These orders are part of the company's first Make-in-India production engagements, covering design, development and manufacturing services in sectors including homeland security and marketing technology. The work will be carried out from India and contributes to the company's engineering and production footprint.
Vanderlande expands India GCC with Pune innovation centre
Vanderlande has opened an India Innovation Centre in Pune as part of its Global Capability Centre (GCC) network. The facility will house engineering, research and development, and testing teams focused on automation, robotics, autonomous systems and AI for logistics and material handling solutions. The expansion positions the Pune centre as a key hub supporting the company's global operations across warehousing, airports and parcel logistics.
