New Delhi, Jan. 29 -- India's second-largest IT services firm Infosys on Thursday unveiled a new set of AI-driven fan engagement and accessibility solutions for the Australian Open 2026, expanding its long-running digital partnership with Tennis Australia and underscoring its push to showcase large-scale, responsible enterprise AI deployments.
The announcement builds on Infosys' eight-year collaboration with Tennis Australia, under which the IT services major has steadily embedded data, analytics and artificial intelligence into the Grand Slam's digital and on-ground experiences. Infosys said the latest innovations are powered by Infosys Topaz, its generative and agentic AI suite.
At the centre of the AO 2026 rollout is MatchFeel, an accessibility-focused pilot designed for blind and visually impaired fans. The system converts real-time ball-tracking and match data into tactile and haptic feedback on a physical court surface, allowing users to "feel" rallies through vibrations and a magnetic ring that traces ball movement, synced with live commentary.
Infosys is also introducing Rally, a generative AI-powered humanoid robot that will operate at the Infosys Fan Zone. The AI mascot will draw on live match data to engage fans through tennis-focused interactions such as match insights, predictions and photo experiences, with Infosys stressing that the system runs within strict responsible AI guardrails.
Additional AI-led features include Keys to the Match, which provides simplified pre-match insights using player statistics and win probabilities, as well as enhancements to existing platforms such as the Infosys Match Centre, AI-generated commentary, automated highlight creation, and advanced video analytics for players and coaches.
The Australian Open partnership has become a high-visibility global showcase for Infosys' AI and data capabilities, following earlier deployments such as AI-powered commentary, digital twins, and immersive fan experiences introduced in previous editions of the tournament.
The latest announcement comes shortly after Infosys reported Q3 FY26 revenue of $4.63 billion, up 1.3% sequentially, with the company stating that AI-led demand, and reiterated its focus on large transformation deals, AI-led productivity and platform-driven growth.
Infosys said the Infosys Fan Zone at Melbourne Park will continue to operate as a climate-active installation, with fully offset carbon emissions and recyclable structures. The company will also run its Future Leaders Program at the venue, aimed at exposing school students to digital skills, leadership and generative AI applications in a real-world sporting environment.
