New Delhi, July 28 -- Venkatesh Babu S has taken on the role of Chief Technology Officer (CTO) at N. Ranga Rao & Sons, one of India's leading incense sticks manufacturers. He has over two decades of experience in IT strategy, ERP implementation, and advancements in retail technology.
In his new role, Babu is set to enhance N. Ranga Rao & Sons' digital infrastructure and prepare the company for future business operations. Based in Mysore, Karnataka, his responsibilities will include shaping the technology roadmap for the company.
N. Ranga Rao & Sons is a family-run business since 1948, known for its Cycle Pure Agarbathi, which has diversified into new business categories such as functional air care products, wellness and home fragrance products, floral extracts, solar irrigation systems, healthcare solutions, defence, aerospace and education.
Prior to joining N. Ranga Rao & Sons, Babu held the position of president and head - IT at Coffee Day Global Ltd (Cafe Coffee Day), where he played a crucial role in the digital transformation of more than 2,500 retail locations.
His leadership spanned from strategic management information systems (MIS) planning to the successful implementation of SAP ERP and point-of-sale (POS) integrations, ensuring seamless operations across various retail formats, including Xpress and Fresh n Ground outlets.
In his earlier roles at Amalgamated Bean Coffee Trading Co. Ltd and Amalgamated Holdings Ltd, Babu spearheaded major technology initiatives, loyalty programs, and the establishment of enterprise-level infrastructure. N. Ranga Rao & Sons, which is managed by the third generation of the Ranga family, has recently been voted as a 'Top 50 India's Best Workplace' by the Great Place to Work in the Manufacturing category.
