New Delhi, Sept. 9 -- Cognizant has announced the appointment of Vishal Salvi as Senior Vice President and Global Practice Head for its Cybersecurity business. He will report to Annadurai Elango, President of Core Technologies & Insights at the company.
In his new role, Salvi will oversee Cognizant's global cybersecurity practice, which provides services in risk management, compliance, threat detection, incident response, and cloud and application security. He will be responsible for scaling the practice, strengthening offerings across industries, and guiding the company's strategy in addressing evolving cyber threats.
Salvi joins Cognizant from Quick Heal Technologies Limited, where he was Chief Executive Officer. Previously, he served as Global Chief Information Security Officer and Business Head of the Cybersecurity Service Line at Infosys. His career of over three decades spans leadership roles at PwC, HDFC Bank, Standard Chartered Bank, Global Trust Bank, Development Credit Bank, and Crompton Greaves.
Beyond corporate positions, Salvi has contributed to industry bodies, serving as an Independent Director of the Data Security Council of India for five years. He continues to engage with advisory boards and councils on cybersecurity matters.
He holds a computer science engineering degree and an MBA in finance from Bombay University. He has completed executive leadership programs at Harvard University, Stanford University, and IIM Ahmedabad, and holds certifications including Certified Information Security Manager (CISM) and DSCI Certified Privacy Professional.
