New Delhi, Sept. 8 -- Cisco and Tata Communications have announced a partnership to expand enterprise use of eSIM and Internet of Things (IoT) connectivity. The collaboration aims to address challenges faced by businesses that manage large numbers of connected devices across multiple regions.
Under the new partnership, Tata Communications' MOVE platform, which provides global eSIM orchestration and lifecycle management in more than 200 countries, will be integrated with Cisco's IoT Control Center, a cloud-based device management platform used by over 32,000 enterprises. The integration will allow businesses to activate and manage devices across multiple SIM providers, networks, and eSIM standards from a single system.
By combining Cisco's device management capabilities with Tata Communications' global connectivity infrastructure, enterprises will be able to simplify deployments, reduce integration complexity, and avoid vendor lock-in. The solution is expected to improve visibility and control across all stages of IoT rollouts.
Industries such as transportation, logistics, and manufacturing are expected to benefit significantly. For example, logistics companies will be able to activate IoT-enabled trailers across borders without replacing SIM cards, while utility providers will be able to manage infrastructure monitoring across private and public networks without reconfiguring devices.
Marco Bijvelds, Vice President and Global Head of Tata Communications MOVE said, "The continuous evolution of eSIM technologies is generating a transformative shift in the way enterprises connect and manage their IoT devices. The unmatched power of Tata Communications' intelligent IoT fabric and Cisco's proven device management platform will empower global businesses to unlock new opportunities, streamline operations, and accelerate digital transformation."
Masum Mir, SVP and GM, Cisco Provider Mobility, said, "As enterprises need greater simplicity, automation and scalability to effectively manage increasingly complex use cases, we see eSIM as a foundational technology. Tata Communications' proven track record as a great Cisco partner made them a logical choice as we advance our vision for mobility services, particularly in managing connected vehicles over the full lifecycle - from manufacturing, to the dealership, to the road."
