Sri Lanka, Aug. 10 -- Sri Lanka's motorsport superstar Yevan David will make history next year as the first driver from the island nation to compete in the FIA Formula 3.

The 18-year-old has signed with Aix Racing for the 2026 season, stepping onto the global stage in a series that runs on the same days and tracks as Formula 1. The championship will take him to circuits in Melbourne, China, Japan, Europe, Middle East, Brazil, Canada and the United Kingdom, among others.

"This is a dream come true," David said. "I am very thankful to race as the first Sri Lankan driver in Formula 3 and with Aix Racing. They've proved themselves, and I'm excited to achieve great milestones with them for the season ahead."
