Sri Lanka, Aug. 3 -- Wesley College brought an end to a 20-year-long long wait when they defeated Royal College 24-17 in their Inter-Schools Under-19 League Rugby Tournament Cup Championship match played at the Royal Sports Complex in Colombo.
This was a historic moment for the Wesleyites as they last beat Royal back in 2005 under the leadership of Omar Sariffodeen, where they triumphed by a convincing margin of 27-0 at the Sugathadasa Stadium, in Colombo.
In fact, this was only their second victory over Royal since the two schools started playing rugby way back in 1956 with their first and the famous win coming during the 2003 season.
