Sri Lanka, Sept. 21 -- Sri Lanka drew first blood when they defeated Australia by 25 runs in the opening fixture of the five-match Women's Under-19 T20 Series, which commenced at the Dambulla Stadium yesterday.
Sri Lanka produced a fine batting performance to compile an impressive 133 for three after they were invited to bat first and then restricted the visitors to 108 for eight in their 20 overs.
The platform for Sri Lanka's victory was laid by their top order batters Sanjana Kavindi, Vimoksha Balasuriya and Skipper Manudi Nanayakkara.
The former struck early form and hammered a 46-ball 62 with the aid of three sixes and six boundaries to secure the Player-of-the-Match Award.
