Sri Lanka, Sept. 9 -- The Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna (SLPP) revoked the party membership of former Angunakolapelessa Pradeshiya Sabha members Sampath Manamperi and Piyal Manamperi yesterday (6), following their arrest in connection with the recovery of chemicals and equipment used to manufacture crystal methamphetamine ('ice') partially buried in a land belonging to them in Middeniya.

A statement released by the General Secretary of SLPP Sagara Kariyawasam said that the membership was revoked on the grounds of alleged possession of the raw materials.
