Sri Lanka, Sept. 14 -- Sri Lanka joined 142 countries in endorsing the New York Declaration on the peaceful settlement of the question of Palestine and the implementation of a two-State solution with Israel, the United Nations General Assembly said on Friday. The announcement was met with applause in the UN General Assembly Hall in New York.

The New York Declaration is the outcome of an international conference held in July at the UN Headquarters, organised by France and Saudi Arabia, which will resume later this month.
