Sri Lanka, Jan. 5 -- UNP Parliamentarian Ranjan Ramanayake was arrested following a raid at his official residence in Madiwela yesterday night.

The Colombo South Crimes Division conducted the raid last evening with a warrant issued by the Nugegoda Magistrate's Court.

Early in the evening, the police checked a laptop, CDs and DVDs found in the politician's residence. A pistol with a licence last issued in 2016 along with 127 9mm bullets and several suspicious documents were also taken into police custody, according to the Police Media Unit.
