Sri Lanka, Sept. 21 -- Deputy Minister of Plantation and Community Infrastructure, Sundaralingam Pradeep has vowed strict action against past corruption in the Ministry, including alleged misuse of funds during former Minister Jeevan Thondaman's tenure. "Projects illegally carried out with political interference were immediately stopped when we took office. Investigations are ongoing, and those responsible will be punished," he said.
Pradeep said that many housing projects launched by the previous Government, including Indian-funded schemes, were left incomplete.
