India, Sept. 22 -- Aizawl: More than 600 trucks carrying essential commodities remain stranded on National Highway 306/6, particularly along the Sairang-Kawnpui stretch in Mizoram, due to its severely deteriorated condition, a government official confirmed on Sunday.
National Highway 306, a vital route also known in parts as NH-6, serves as Mizoram's main connection to the rest of India via Silchar in Assam.
The Sairang-Kawnpui section, which underwent repairs between July and August, has once again fallen into disrepair, making it nearly impassable for heavy vehicles transporting critical supplies.
