Sri Lanka, May 25 -- Mahanama College edged out D. S Senanayake College by eight runs under the DLS method in the inaugural Battle of the Golds T20 cricket encounter played under lights at the CCC Grounds in Colombo.

Mahanama won the toss and elected to field first. However, the match was stopped twice due to rain interruptions in the D. S. Senanayake innings.

At the first stoppage D. S. Senanayake scored 39 runs for one wicket. Again the match was stopped due to rain after 7.1 overs with D. S. Senanayake scoring 40 runs for three wickets. The match restarted, reduced to 18 overs per side and D. S. Senanayake finished with 134 runs for six wickets.
