Lowering feed costs vital for poultry industry to compete better in region

It's vital to improve the productivity of locally cultivated corn through mechanised, large-scale farming, or to permit the import of corn and alternative feed materials at competitive rates for the poultry industry to grow sustainably, said Bairaha Farms PLC Managing Director Yakooth Naleem.

He said lowering feed costs will not only bring down prices for consumers but also help position Sri Lanka's poultry sector to compete more effectively in the region.
