Sri Lanka, Nov. 16 -- The International Monetary Fund has begun assessing Sri Lanka's Budget 2026, Director, Communications Department at the IMF Julie Kozack told reporters in Washington last week as part of the next review of the Extended Fund Facility program with Sri Lanka.

She said the IMF staff is reviewing the Budget documents to evaluate whether the 2026 budget is in line with the program parameters.

"This assessment will be an important part of the review that will be discussed by the Board in the coming weeks," Kozack said

The Budget has been accepted as being fiscally prudent and maintaining policy stability.
