Srilanka, Dec. 7 -- The Supreme Court delivering a judgment in a Fundamental Rights petition concerning a case of police brutality on Friday, noted that previous rulings by the courts had largely been ignored by the Inspector General of Police (IGP) and the National Police Commission (NPC).
The Court in its judgement stated that it is now, therefore, imperative for the Government to intervene, investigate the root causes of police violence, and take decisive action.
