Srilanka, Oct. 5 -- When U.S. President Donald Trump said in his United Nations (UN) speech that he has secured his country's borders and that other countries which hadn't done so are going to hell, the liberal media predictably went ballistic and lambasted him for being insensitive, patronising and worse.
However, the global media generally doesn't solve the problems of struggling nations. Border and immigration issues are often problems for less privileged sections of society in countries that are affected.
Nations such as ours, it is assumed, don't have border issues. It is assumed that most Sri Lankans want to leave the country if they get a chance, and that few people want to get in and stay here illegally.
