Srilanka, March 9 -- Families of the forcibly disappeared in the Northern Province held a protest at the Vadduvakal Bridge in Mullaitivu yesterday, marking eight years (2,923 days) of their continuous struggle for truth and justice. The demonstration was held at the location where their family members, which included LTTE militants, were last seen after being handed over to the Sri Lanka Army during the final stages of the war in 2009. The families, comprising parents and relatives of the disappeared, marched across the bridge yesterday in a symbolic act, reiterating their demand for accountability and answers.
