Sri Lanka, Nov. 30 -- As cyclone Ditwah is moving towards India's Southeast coast, to the North of Tamil Nadu by early morning today (Sunday), the heavy rains and strong winds will ease in Colombo, the Western Province, Sabaragamuwa, Southern and Uva Provinces, senior Meteorology Department officials said yesterday.
The Meteorology Department duty forecaster Pabodani Karunapala said rainfall is expected to drop significantly by tomorrow, with less than 20 mm in low-lying areas. "But heavy rains, around 100 mm may continue in Trincomalee, the Central hill country, North and North Central Provinces," she added.
