Sri Lanka, Nov. 16 -- Farmers who staged protests across the country stating that Budget 2026 had not addressed their key concerns to protect them from imports and ensuring a stable price for theory produce said they would continue their agitation if the authorities fail to meet their needs without delay.

"The Budget has failed to provide a substantial solution to our ongoing grievances like reasonable price for produce and a stable market," said Sarath Withanage, a potato farmer in Welimada.

Farmers across the country including Welimada, Uva Paranagama, and Nuwara Eliya, took to streets last week over the budget which they said disregarded their concerns.
