Sri Lanka, Nov. 30 -- The Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery or Corruption (CIABOC) has denied claims circulating on social media that its Director General Ranga Dissanayake issued special instructions to State sector employees on how to carry out their duties during the ongoing disaster.
In a statement, the Commission said that the Director General had made no such comments and urged the public and the media to avoid spreading unverified information, especially at a time when the country is grappling with a national emergency. A spokesman for CIABOC said that sharing false reports only adds to public confusion and hampers vital relief efforts.
