Sri Lanka, Nov. 30 -- Deputy Highways Minister Prasanna Gunasena said yesterday that officials in Kandy have begun a post-disaster recovery plan, bringing together all Departmental heads, political representatives and community stakeholders for the district to return to normalcy after the devastation caused by Cyclone Ditwah.
This follows the Kandy District Disaster Management Committee meeting chaired by Agriculture Minister K.D. Lakantha.
Gunasena said the immediate needs include dry rations, clothing, bottled water, sanitary products, clean towels and other essentials. Those who wish to donate can deliver them to the Kandy District Secretariat and the Divisional Secretariats.
