Sri Lanka, Feb. 1 -- The long-vacant post of Auditor General will be filled within the next three days, Health and Mass Media Minister and Cabinet spokesman Dr. Nalinda Jayatissa told the Sunday Observer yesterday.
He said this in response as to why the appointment of the Auditor General had been in a deadlock for many months despite pressure from the Opposition, public and civil society organisations and religious leaders.
He said the newly appointed Constitutional Council will decide on the appointment of the Auditor General at its next sitting - which is their second.
