Sri Lanka, April 20 -- The 36th Annual General Meeting of the Alumni Association of the University of Peradeniya (AAUP) was held on March 23 at the Diamond Jubilee Auditorium, Faculty of Agriculture, University of Peradeniya.
The chief guest was Chairman, National AI Advisory Committee, Dr. Romesh Ranawana.
Emeritus Prof. Lakshman Dissanayake was felicitated for his contribution as a scientist. Vice-Chancellor Prof. Terrence Madujith urged alumni to support the university's ongoing initiatives.
Emeritus Prof. Deepthi Bandara was appointed as President, Dr. Rajitha Ranasinghe as General Secretary, and Hubert Kalugampitiya as Treasurer of the new Executive Committee.
