Singapore, Jan. 11 -- For the longest time, all BMW cars had a nifty button to activate the automatic mode for its wipers.

It was the only brand to have this feature, which eliminated the vagueness associated with other auto wiper functions.

But in recent years, this simple button started disappearing on certain models. It is nice to see it on the revised X1.

What is not so nice is the absence of cruise control, a function which even mass market cars now offer. The X1 has a speed limiter, though - reassuring to those who find keeping to saner speeds challenging.
