On online marketplace platform Carousell, a #Blessings section, which started in 2016 and gathers all listings by users looking to donate their items to others, has seen listings increase from 40,000 in 2018 to 52,000 last year. Users commonly donate fashion items, children's toys, books and furniture.
In 2017, the company tied up with one charity to help facilitate the process for users looking to donate and help others. The initiative has now expanded to 26 charities, including Singapore Children's Society, SPD, Metta Home for the Disabled and Care Corner Senior Services.
