LONDON, March 21 -- Nirav Modi, a fugitive was remanded in custody till 29 March on Wednesday by UK court as his plea was rejected by the court.

According to the report published in Deccan Chronicle, he is likely to be held in a separate cell in Her Majesty's Prison Wandsworth, which is one of the largest prisons in Western Europe.

In the prison, Modi's inmates will include Dawood henchman Pakistani-origin Jabir Moti, who is undergoing extradition proceedings to the US.

Nirav Modi is likely to be held in a separate cell until his next hearing on March 29.

He was arrested on Tuesday from a Metro Bank branch, where he came to open new bank account in London by uniformed officers.
