France, May 27 -- Sixth seed Mirra Andreeva overcame a nervous start on Tuesday to move into the second round of the French Open.

The 18-year-old Russian, who reached the semi-finals last year, lost the first three games of her match against Cristina Bucsa on Court Suzanne Lenglen.

But she recovered her poise to take the first set 6-4.

She claimed the Spaniard's serve to lead 3-1 in the second set and she held on to her advantage to take the set 6-3 and wrap up proceedings after 82 minutes.

"Christina started the match really well," Andreeva told on-court interviewer Alex Corretja. "I was able to stay calm and play the way I wanted to play.

"Gradually, I was able to find my rhythm and come back into the match."Favourite
