France, June 17 -- Inter Milan captain Lautaro Martinez admitted on Tuesday that he was still baffled by his side's capitulation in the 5-0 loss to Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League final on 31 May.

In an interview with the Italian newspaper La Gazzetta dello Sport, published just ahead of Inter's first competitive game since the slaughter at the Allianz Arena in Munich, Lautaro said: "I was sad and it was hard to understand why it had happened.

"I didn't speak for five or six days," he added. "That night of the final, nothing was possible and we lost everything. It wasn't us. We weren't a team.

"And now we have to move on, there's no other solution, even if it's all still in my head."
