France, Oct. 11 -- France moved three points closer to qualification for next year's World Cup with Kylian Mbappe, Adrien Rabiot and Florian Thauvin all on target in a comfortable 3-0 Group D win over Azerbaijan at the Parc des Princes in Paris on Friday. Les Bleus are set to play Iceland on Monday but will do so without Mbappe, who took another knock to his sore right ankle.

The win keeps them top of the group with a maximum nine points from their three games, five points clear of second-placed Ukraine who won 5-3 in Iceland.

Didier Deschamps' side will book their passage to the Americas if they win in Iceland on Monday and Ukraine fail to beat Azerbaijan.
