France, Dec. 18 -- A22-year old man has been arrested after a cyberattack on theFrenchinterior ministry's email servers, which affected an unspecified number of sensitive files.
A group of hackers claimed responsibility for the attack, which occured on 11 December, saying they had stolen the data of "millions" of French people.
TheFrenchprosecutor's department said on Wednesday that the suspect was already on police records after having been convicted of similar crimes this year.
An investigation is being conducted by the cybercrime unit of the Paris prosecutor's office, and focuses on charges including attacks on a State-run automated personal data processing system by an organised gang.
