France, June 19 -- The sister of a French teacher Cecile Kohler, held in an Iranian jail with her partner Jacques Paris, has called on the French government to secure their release on humanitarian grounds as violence intensifies between Iran and Israel.
"We expect the French authorities to use all their influence to bring an end to the bombings, so that there are no more civilian casualties and so that Cecile and Jacques can regain some semblance of safety," Noemie Kohler told RFI.
"We also expect them to do their utmost by invoking, for example, humanitarian evacuation, which is justified in this situation."
