KATHMANDU, Sept. 30 -- The Tribhuvan University Teachers' Association (TUTA) has protested against the decision of Tribhuvan University to make biometric attendance of teachers and staff mandatory.

A meeting of the Executive Council of Tribhuvan University (TU) on August 23 had instructed all campuses and Departments to make biometric attendance mandatory to all teachers and staff. The TUTA has expressed serious objection over the decision stating that digital attendance is incompatible with the teaching profession.
