KATHMANDU, Aug. 24 -- As part of its corporate social responsibility initiative, Samsung Electronics has launched programs for women empowerment in Nepal.

According to a press statement issued on Friday, the consumer electronics company has provided entrepreneurial skills training to 30 women from Tarkeshwor region who run their own business or have products to sell.

"Samsung has also set up a women's business center to further help these women grow their business. This set up, managed by a local partner organization VIN, will directly benefit more than 1500 women from different villages," the statement added.
