Nepal records highest single-day spike in COVID-19 cases with 156 new infections today, national tally climbs to 1042
KATHMANDU, May 28 -- Nepal has recorded highest single-day spike in COVID-19 cases with 156 new infections on Thursday. With this, the number of COVID-19 cases in the country has reached 1042.
Of the infected persons, 940 are males and 102 females, the ministry spokesperson, Bikash Devkota said at a media briefing this afternoon.
Devkota said that Koshi Hospital, Biratnagar, has reported 25 new COVID-19 cases (all patients are from Jhapa) and BP Koirala Institute of Health Sciences has two new COVID-19 cases.
National Public Health Laboratory has reported 77 new COVID-19 cases. Of the 77 COVID-19 patients, 29 are from Dhanusa, 17 from Mahottari, 3 from Rautahat, 12 from Saptari, 7 from Sarlahi, six from Siraha, two from Dolakha and one...
