KATHMANDU, July 4 -- Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli said on Saturday that the ruling Nepal Communist Party is facing a grave crisis while indicating that the party may split soon.

At an emergency meeting at his official residence in Baluwatar, the prime minister, however, told the Cabinet ministers that he will do his best to keep the party unity intact until the last minute.

"Now, conspiracies are being hatched to remove me from the post of prime minister and party chairman. In addition to that, some of our party members are also trying to remove President Bidya Devi Bhandari from the power," a Cabinet minister told quoting the prime minister as saying.
